My hair...i need help please!

Question Posted Tuesday April 18 2006, 9:12 pm

Ok so my hair is long...when I say long i mean like past my hips long and I'm 5'4"! Anyway my mom doesn't want me cut it but I don't want to cut it all off...I jus want about 5 inches off! I told her and she keeps saying when i get older blah blah blah. If it was for my family i'd keep it but sometimes I can't wash it in the evenin cause i hate to blowdry and then sometimes i get up late and it takes about 20 mins to comb it neat to go to school. And also because alot of kids tell me " you always have your hair like that...it m ust keep tired"! And I'm sick of it..I jus want it a few inches shorter!!!

Please help me to get a way for her to get me to cut my hair and I don't want her to know kids truble me because then she'll make me move to a nex school n i relly like this one!!!!

I have about 4 days...so help me please

Tell your mom that its really imprtant for you to have you hair be nice, and tell her its a pain to brush it for 20 minutes in the morning. Tell her you want to be able to style it and be a normal kid (or teen). If she says no, dont whine or argue. Just come back later, and come up with a few more reasons. Maybe say that its your hair and that you feel you should have a say in what you do with it. Hopefully those will work. If not sorry. When you get it cut, get it cut at a compromising shortness. If your mom wants no less than 3 inches off, offer 4. Get a hot style for long hair. You can look on the internet for nice ones.

hey, everyone else is right. go to locks of love. also try styling it differently. like instead of leving it straight put it in a messy bun or scrunch it. cait♥

i like the ideas from the other people...

i know EXACTLY how you feel i was in the same place as you a couple months ago..

i told my dad that if he didnt let me cut my hair that id do it myself..and then id probably ruin it & have to cut it really short..its your hair..you should be able to do what you want with it..5 inches isnt much shorter tell her that..and if it dont work..cut it your self..its not that hard..you can even have a friend do it..

or just cut a little peice off & tell her it was an accident..

good luck =]

All I can think of is Locks of Love. It's a charity that makes wigs for kids that need them. They take donations of real hair. I think that most haircutting businesses will do it for you so you don't have to go to one of the events. If you showed a really big interest in this your mom might let you do it. The only thing is that you need to donate at least 10 inches. It'll probably all grow back in a year or so, so it really isn't all that much. Here is their website if it's something you are interested in that you think your mom might let you do. Good luck!

- messy bun
- really curly
- braids

or you could try to convince your mom that it's just SO timeconsuming and tiresome to manage your hair. Tell her that you will compromise with her and only cut it a little bit.

Good Luck!
