If you're just starting out, try getting a temporary job at a fast food place; it'll teach you how to work under pressure, how to work hard, and give you good experience. If you do really well there and impress your manager, then that builds you up for getting your next job.
After 6 months or so of that (the longer you stay with a place, the better you look!) try applying to retail jobs. Volunteer work also really helps you get an edge when applying.
Remember when you're handing out resumes to be friendly and outgoing, but professional, because often the person accepting your resume will pre-evaluate you based on first impressions :)

You can work at a clothing store, ice cream place...theres tons of places you can work at.
If your not 16, it might be harder to find a job because there are child labor laws. You can babysit peoples kids, people in your neighborhood...tutor little kids, or walk peoples dogs or something.
You just need to ask around, go to buisnesses and ask if their hiring anyone.
