If you use Limewire for unlawful purposes, such as illegal downloading of songs or copyrighted material, you can be arrested for that. However it is rare for outright arrests as copyright holders prefer the "civil damages" or the money for the deed.

limewire is:
(as far as I know)Legal, and used for downloading, searching and listening to songs. you go to www.limewire.com and download it, remember to make sure it's in english. and it's pretty self explanatory. to go to the search bar and put in whatever you want, and click search. things will pop up and remember to always get the version of what you want that's been downloaded the most times, he guarentees it's the best quality out there. :]

Sigh, horay for bad answers....

Okay. Limewire is a program, which has three primary functions: you can search for files, download files, and share files.

Searching for files returns a list of files other users are sharing, and you can then download the files from them. If you share a file, then when a user searches for that file they can download it from you.

If you download a file which is copyright (such as most music, movies, and books), both you and the person you downloaded it from have broken the law. Same if someone downloads a copyright file from you. You do not have to sell anything to anybody.

'Individuals who reproduce, distribute copies, or receive copies of works other than their own without the consent of the owners, may be [read: are] in violation of copyright infringement.'

it is a program that you share music or w.e you want with other people. you cant get arrested for it because it is allowed to download music but ur no allowed to SELL it to people. some people dont know that. hope this helps.
