Everyone leaves...

Question Posted Monday April 3 2006, 1:54 am

All my life, every best friend I had has eventually left me. Moving away, losing touch, or a terrible fight has broken us apart. All I've ever wanted was one good friend who would never leave me.

This is my year so far: Met a girl in my new school, became best friends for half a year until she left me for a guy. My old best friend and I fought so he ignored me until we stopped talking. My other best friend became sort of slutty and we stopped talking.

What can I do to find a person I can have a lasting relationship with? How can I tell if our friendship will survive?

Youre asking me to give advice telling you what you can do to find a person you can be friends with forever? You be yourself. Nothing else but you. Dont act like something youre not to please someone in order to be best friends with them. You cant tell if your friendship will survive, ive gone through many things with my "friends" who i thought id be friends with forever but seriously one day they are your best friend the next they talk shit and you know do everything to hurt you. Friends come and go. Maybe youll be lucky and find someone youll be friends with forever, and i really hope you do. Hang in there ;)

well i know this sounds lame but just be yourself :-) and you know.. when you look for something really badly you cant find it so what you can do is dont say that some1 is your best friend when your not even that sure and i would really just wait! your question is kinda hard to answer but you could stay in touch with your friend that moved away cause i have a best friend really fare away from here but i still call her every day and then we just talk about our day and stuff.. you could do the same and dont look so desperatly for a best friend cause that makes it even harder! what you also could do is when you think that some1 is very nice or something invite her to your house! i know this is'nt very helpful but i still hope i helped
good luck

The magical thing about a forever-type friend is that no matter how much time has elapsed, or how much you each change, you still stay chill with eachother. I think you should try to give your friends more personal space, and judge them less. Think of all the mistakes you've made, and understand they're like you. You can't wait for someone who'll never do something you don't like, you have to pick someone you will like no matter what.

When somebody leaves you for a guy or because they don't like you anymore, there is basically nothing you can do about it. You have to find new friends and some ways you can do that is this:

-Having a party (invite old friends & new people, who knows, you could become friends with your old friends again!)
-Having a new friend over
-Going to the movies with a new friend
-Inviting a friend over for dinner

These will make your relationship stronger in the begininng so that it will not fade towards the end. If you two start to get into a fight, then make sure it stops by saying you are sorry for what you did and make an agreement to not get into another fight again becauase you are best friends. This will make her understand that you and her are bestfriends and it should stay that way. It is hard to find new friends at this time of the year because most everyone already has "cliques" that they hang out with. Sorry, but you could try to join a new clique, but don't join like the art club if your not into art. Don't be someone your not, and I hope you make new friends!!!! ♥

Friendships change for resons:
-New interests
-Being apart
-Family life
-New friends

That girl who left you for a guy is a jerk. About your old best friend, don't lose hope. I'm sure you can get back to being best friends again.
Just remember:
-Don't be afraid to make the first move.
-Adults can help.
-Keep your sense of humor.

If your other friend can stop being slutty, maybe you can work things out with her.

Here's what you need to look at for finding the right friend for you:
-Kind to people
-Friendly to you
-Same interests as you
-Honest
-Keeps promises
-Interested in knowing you

Remember: Nobody can be a better friend than you. The only way to have a friend is to be one.

No one's ever really sure if friendships are temporary or not. So be prepared for changes.

Hope you'll find a good friend who'll never leave you. Good luck!

Later!:)
