Hairy arms.

Question Posted Tuesday March 14 2006, 1:37 pm

Okay, I got most of my fathers genes in me. I have extremely hairy arms, I do shave them though. As a girl, it embarrasses me very badly. I've been to doctors and they've given me pills to see less hair growth, but the hair that was already there will just keep growing. (Which is a lot) I'm in my first year of highschool, and I'm VERY self conscious about my arms. I wear long sleeves/jackets until I can't take it anymore. (And I live in Texas, so it is already sooo hot right now) What do you suggest I do? Keep shaving them? It's time consuming, every other day I have to do it cause my hair grows back so fast, and it's just now fair other girls have basically no hair on their arms & they do nothing to them. Ahh, what to do, I have to start wearing short sleeves, the heats too much.

Also, getting laser hair removal is not a choice, we're not rich. Hah.

I also cannot wax, I have tons of little cuts on the top of my arms from cat scratches and such, and waxing would hurt so badly.

try waxing them they'll probably take longer to grow back. or you could maybe get the permanant hair removal treatment thing.

Im 15 years old and i have the same problem. I always thought my arms was the hairiest arms that a girl could have and then i realized theres alot of girls like that. You need to quit shaving because if u dont the hair will grow worse and worse and it will never get better. I was always ashamed of it and i tried shaving but my mama got mad lol...so i stopped and i learned to live with it. My arms arent that hairy now but still ya know. But if i was you i wouldnt shave anymore.

hey, i have the same problem, im a girl and i have some of the hairiest arms I've ever seen. There really nothing you can do about it, because shaving them will just make it grow back harrier and thicker, so the best thing to do is stop shaving. And I'm self conscious about my arms to, but if you are hot enough, you wont care what people think about your arms.

Don't shave your hair on your arms cuz it will just grow back except thicker and longer and pretty soon they will become very noticable. So just don't mind that you have hairy arms. almost every body does even girls. just be yourself.

And i think there's a saying to this: doesn't matter whats on the outside it's whats in the inside.

Here are some options:

1) Dye your arms a blonde color.
2) Continue to shave.
OR
3) Ask for a better type of pill from your doctor.
So many girls have this problem, you oculd always ignore it and not care.. people don't usually pay attention to how much hair is on your arm! :]

Hey girl, either keep shaving or don't. Waxing hurts anyway, and the hair will grow back eventually and you'll get frustrated. I'm so sorry, babe.

Three options:

* You can continue shaving your arm hairs, thought it'll be time consuming.

* Don't do anything about it. Everybody has their "flaws", nobody's perfect. =]

* (Sorry) You could get a wax. I know, you said they hurt, but they're better than shaving.

Hope i helped

Go wax them. Don't shave them anymore! Trust me, I've seen people who shave their arm hairs--and it's not pretty! Also, that's pretty gross that you have to SHAVE it. Maybe go by a home waxing kit and use it--That way, the hairs would not grow back as fast and you won't have to re-wax as often.

Also, if you shave your arm hairs, they grow back faster, thicker, and longer--although you probably already realized that.

---Edit--
Thanks for giving me a 3 when you didn't even mention that waxing wasn't an option. Seriously, if you can't wax or get laser hair removal, what other choice do you have? None! Thanks for wasting my time.
