Am i an alcoholic?

Question Posted Sunday February 26 2006, 6:40 am

Im 15 and i drink. A lot. A few friends have commented but i tell them i could stop any time i want. Which i always believed. Thing is, i never want to stop. So i never know whether i can or not. Hense not knowing whether i have a problem. *sigh* I usually drink a bottle of wine in the mornings after breakfast (red: yum) then a beer with lunch. I then just have beers and lager etc for the rest of the day. I usually go through about 1 bottle of wine and 7 cans a day. I then have a bottle of vodka if my mates are round but if theyre not i just have a few shots before i go to sleep. Thats the weekends. On school days i have a few shots of vodka before i go to school and beers afterwards when i get home. I didnt think this was all that much. What should i do? I DONT HAVE THE WILL POWER TO DO ANYTHING. i like to drink. Thats all. Its not like im hurting anybody... thanks <3

You're an alcoholic. Period. "Its not like im hurting anybody..." Wrong--you will hurt somebody-Whether it's driving under the influence or doing something really stupid without realizing it.
I'm not going to tell you to stop..because that would be really hard..but Try NOT drinking before school..and cut it back after school. Try and get help..for your own sake.

if you keep up that schedule you're putting yourself at serious risk for illness at such a young age. alcohol is a drug and hun youre abusing it. not only are you an underage drinker, but youre drinking more than most people who are legal drinkers. not to mention youre drinking on days you have school. i would definetly say you are an alcoholic. alcoholism is a huge problem. it killed one of my friends mom. she came in from school and found her dead in her room with bottles of beer around her. that could be you anyday now if you keep up what youre doing. i suggest you get help from someone. tell someone you trust about your problem so they can help you find a way to stop it. you said your not hurting someone. yes you are. youre hurting yourself.
