Driver's Permit Test.

Question Posted Monday February 20 2006, 8:44 pm

In order to acquire your driver's permit at the age of 15, you must first take a test at the dmv to determine whether or not you're prepared to drive. Is there anywhere online that I can find the questions that will be on the Texas driver's permit test so that I can properly prepare my daughter and narrow down what we're studying to what is absolutely essential?

Thank you.

Its actually really easy. I got my Texas Drivers Handbook on a Monday and took the test on that Wed. She'll need to know all the road signs. Out of all the ones in the book, there were 20 on the test. I don't remember which ones but alot of them were the common sense ones.

Then there are the questions about rules. From what I remember, she needs to know the right of way rules at and intersection, what an unprotected left turn is, distance you need between the car in front of you, etc. You can have her go to this site and take prep tests after she's looked over the handbook.

i couldnt name a site for you in texas- i live in chicago- but i can tell you that if you DO find a site- i wouldnt narrow down her studying to what you find- MANY kids dont pass the test due to just one or two questions, and i really do think it's crucial that she takes in everything she can about the 'big test'. plus, wouldnt you want her to know everything there is to know about driving- not just on the test, but on the road? hope i helped. spitfire9631@yahoo.com

Well, I started here, at the DMV site - [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

And the first link is to a practice test - [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Also, the second link there is to a driving handbook, which you can download as a PDF to spare yourself a trip to the DMV - [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
