Storytellers to the rescue! I'm going to be a camp counselor this summer, and at the camp I go to, each cabin can invite a counselor to come to their cabin right before bed and tell a story or sing a song or read poetry, anything that will get them to go to sleep. Well, I'm a good singer, I'm in the 2 advanced choirs at my school, but I don't know what kinds of songs I should sing to them. The problem is that the age range is from 9-18, so I have a difficult audience. I'd like to tell stories as well, but I don't have any very interesting stories that I can think of and I've tried searching on google, but it's really hard to choose the right story. So, if you were at camp, what kind of story would you like to hear? A funny one, a personal story, a traditional story (like a Native American folk tale or an African one..)? If you know any good places to find stories, that would help too!

when i was at a summer camp a counselor read some chicken soup for the soul stories and we all enjoyed them. ]
I think that if you ask them to request songs and if you dont know them then you can ask them to teach it you then it will keep them interested , also if you try looking up on the internet for stories that would be a good idea ]
No offense but If i was in camp n I was that age I would really want to hear singing. Maybe a story like anaci the spider or a greek tale or one of those fables. They also have some nice poems you can rea dI'm sure. But you can buy one of those greek or fable books or go to a library or more useful...the internet! ]
