hair straightening?

Question Posted Saturday February 18 2006, 11:24 am

My hair is curly/wavy/frizzy. But blowdrying then straightening takes FOREVER. So I was wondering, is there anything out there, like in salons, where they put stuff in your hair so it will stay straight for a while? Like I heard about japanese straightening but thats like major...is there anything else? i rate!

i know i might not be a big help- but did you ever think about getting a heavy-duty straightener?- my momma bought me mine for christmas- it comes with a detangling plate, and a touch-up plate, and it has a steamer built into it, to lock your style in place. if youre interested, i can give you the name and ask where she bought it from. i believe she sed they run anywhere from 60 to 80 dollars, but they are AWESOME! spitfire9631@yahoo.com

what a coincedence!! friday i went and got my straighted... where? at any salon. just go in and ask if they permintly staightin hair! i had the smae problem you are so right it takes forever. theres two bad things though about getting your hair permintly straighted... mine cost 88$ it might cost alot for you if you have long hair. and you might not be able to wash it for two days. which i hate! and when you hair grows out youll have to go get it permintly straighted again... because it will probably be so hard to get the straightener at the scalp of your head. if i were you i wouldnt pay more then 60$ for it if it doesnt last a lifetime. lol! but mine is really straight.. i was also in the salon for 3 hours because you have to wait... it sux alot.. and it stinks baddddd!

hope i helped

at hair salons you can get your hair relaxed which is basically getting it straightened and it should last between 6-8 weeks. but it may not work. its ment for african american hair basically (im guessing your not that) and so sometimes hair dressers have to guess on how strong to make yours and it may not be strong enough and you just waste your money. it ussually costs anywhere from $50-$100 and you run the risk of your hair falling out because of how strong the chemicals are

Not really... at salons you can get your hair like permanently straightened, then it will stay straight until the hair grows out and the roots are curly/wavy. If you are serious about having straight hair I would do that, but permanently straightening like that it is very damaging to your hair.

There may be other ways to get straight hair (I'm not a salon expert!) but that's what I know to be true. Good luck! ^_^
