hey guys does is limewire bad for your computer?! im really scared because i just downloaded it and my dad will KILL me if i mess up the comp. should i just download all my songs now and then delete limewire? ahah. and how do i get them to my iPod? thankss<3
STACEESxADVICE answered Wednesday February 15 2006, 8:40 pm: Well, it is a rumor that Limewire DOES give you viruses, plus it is illegal and probably not as certified as iTunes.
I would recommend that you remove the program from your computer, especially if your dad is mad about it. I'm not really sure how to get the songs onto the iPod though.. srry.
DancinCutie08 answered Wednesday February 15 2006, 8:39 pm: well ive had it for over 3 years and we havent had any problems with it.. it mainly causes viruses only when you download games and stuff but music for the most part is pretty safe.. just if the file ends in .exe (i believe) that means its a virus! dont download it! I would get it off my computer because it's not from the Program itself it's from the music and files that you download.
A while back I did some reasearch on Limewire because I thought about downloading it and I found a lot of results about a virus and that no one should download it unless they want their computer to *crash* from a virus.
It is also illeagal. The government hasn't found it yet. But accasonally they do fine people on the site about $7,500 for downloading free music. But I can tell you a site that my friend uses in Canada and I'm sure you can get free music there. It's:
