My cat is freaking me out! whenever im in bed she lies next to me. Then i'll pet her and she does a weird funky thing to my hair. She expands then inclines her paws in my haie and purrs. when shes done (3 mins) i feel my hair and theres drool! and my hairs all knotty! what is going on?

Whenever you see a cat kneading or rubbing up against something they are leaving their scent a type of marking their territory but not exactly. This particular type of kneading should not be mistaken for a cat sharpening her/his claws or the marking of territory that is usually done by males to let other males of the species know that a certain area is his and to stay out. This territory marking is done usually through urination. Your cat is marking you with her love. The drooling is a physiological response to how happy she is to be with you. How lucky you are to have something in your life that loves you so much!
FunnyCide answered Saturday February 11 2006, 3:30 pm: It's normal. She's "kneading." What that means is she's extending and retracting her claws. Sortof like you would do to a lump of bread dough. All cats do this, it means she's happy. My cat does it all the time. Drooling is normal too. I was holding my male cat, Oreo, while watching Dr. G: Medical Examiner last night, and he was kneeding into my stomach like your cat does into your hair, and I had a huge drool spot on my shirt... haha.
It's normal. Don't worry, she's not possessed or anything. ;)

maybe your cat thinks your hair is string or something?
im sorry if this offends your hair :|
but its the only thing i can think of.
when she starts to do it, push her away so gradually she starts to realise what she's doing is like naughty or something.
