Although, I don't follow a religion [I'm athiest], I strongly believe that we're in Iraq for oil & oil only. We've helped them enough, we need to get our troops back home. And we're not in African because Bush doesn't care about black people. In Farenheit 911 [which is an excellent movie, btw] it shows Bush's flaws as president. He cheated to become pres. His neice works in Florida [and everyone knows Florida isn't too good with the votes] and I guess he had his neice change the votes to him. It shows all of it in the movie. And for black politicians, when they needed a document signed by a legislature, the legislature was never there. We also, still have troops in Vietnam, which should be taken out. I mean, vietnam was like 50 years ago, right? War without a SUPER GOOD CAUSE is unreasonable, unnecessary, and unruly. I think we need to get out of Iraq, and that guy running Palestine or whatever the hell that country is called is a retard. I believe he needs to be out of office as well. Please someone, impeach Bush.
bittersweet12 answered Monday February 6 2006, 10:48 pm: hey, i feel the same way i think that kids are taught in school that you shouldnt hit others, you know dont fight, and this and that but then you see grown men and women who volinteer humans to go and try to kill others. i often just question why waste time why dont you just teach us to kill, and people say teenagers have maturity issues! i believe that its stupid to practice such things and then have the balls to say look at our "men" out ther fighting for justice, its a joke. i say increase the peace and get a life, you know the whole steriotype of a nosie neighbor. i dont know if you are for president bush im mostly a independent person but i really think that pres. bush is incompetent and almost puts himself up to look like the pinacle of all uneducated people. i donno if that was some random editorial but those are my veiws. hope it helped

I also used to wonder why we hadn't pulled out of Iraq yet, until last semester in my English class. The guy who sat next to me had just spent 5 years as a sniper for the Marines, and was on the first sweep into Iraq.
He wrote an essay explaining how the people there still need help, because although there is a new government it is still very unstable and there are lots of threats that could topple it at any moment. He wrote about how the people there greeted him and the other soldiers with joy, and how much the natives of Iraq supported them.
I guess his point was that the people of Iraq still need help, even though the US media makes it seem like the relief is unwelcome.
Hearing first hand from a guy that helped bring freedom to the people really changed my perspective.
As for Africa: I agree that something needs to be done. If you feel moved to help, try contacting a charity that works in Afria. Just because our government is focused mainly on other areas, doesn't mean that nothing is being done. Search around and get involved where you think you can be used :-) [ bakakitten's advice column | Ask bakakitten A Question ]
