I think I am fat. I weigh about 116-120 pounds and am about 5"4. Is this overweight?
I don't have like ANY time at all to exercize, I do lose weight, but than I end up gaining it all back on. I can't wake up an hour earlier in the morning because I am already tired as is. I am busy like ALL the time. Does anyone have any way I could lose weight quickly, and wouln't take much time out of my schedual? (link)
Actually, you're nearly in danger of being underweight. At 5'4" and 116-120 pounds you're pretty thin. If you loose anymore you could have serious medical problems.
Did you know that the red cross won't even allow blood donations if you're under 115 pounds, because your body probably couldn't handle the little bit of loss?

I wouldn't worry about your weight if I were you, but if you want to feel strong and healthy, you should go get some small 3-5 pound weights (available at Walmart and various sports stores). Just pump your hand weights while you study or watch TV. Your muscles will look nice and toned, and you'll probably feel better!

I would double major if I were you. Many schools offer degrees in entreprenuership which I think would help you the most. You probably already know a little bit about fashion, but it never hurts to learn more.
Whatever you do, go in with an open mind. College will show you tons of degrees and oppertunities that you never knew existed! I would sign up for a degree you are interested in, but take general education classes your first semester, so that if you do change your major you won't have wasted any time.

I too am a christian, so I get where you are coming from. I also used to wonder why we hadn't pulled out of Iraq yet, until last semester in my English class. The guy who sat next to me had just spent 5 years as a sniper for the Marines, and was on the first sweep into Iraq.
He wrote an essay explaining how the people there still need help, because although there is a new government it is still very unstable and there are lots of threats that could topple it at any moment. He wrote about how the people there greeted him and the other soldiers with joy, and how much the natives of Iraq supported them.
I guess his point was that the people of Iraq still need help, even though the US media makes it seem like the relief is unwelcome.
Hearing first hand from a guy that helped bring freedom to the people really changed my perspective.

As for Africa: I agree that something needs to be done. If you feel moved to help, try contacting a charity that works in Afria. Just because our government is focused mainly on other areas, doesn't mean that nothing is being done. Search around and get involved where you think you can be used :-)


i dont mean to be ungrateful or anything...... i feel really bad actually. i showed my mom the new sidekick. just showed it to her. she got it for me the moment that she saw it.... but the cell phone isnt so easy... i don't know. i need a cell phone to talk with, and if you have unlimited internet with that phone, you get too little minutes. the plan is incredibly weird and it's way too little minutes for me. what should i do? i can't just tell her to get out of the contract! I just want a regular cingular phone that has little lights =) because the thing is that i'm not sure if on t-mobile you can talk mobile to mobile free, but on most companies you can. with cingular you can talk free from mobile to mobile and my mom and all my friends have cingular, and its rediculous that when i get out of school, and i call my mom that it has to be payed for or i'm using my minutes or however it works!!! anyone got any ideas?? thank you! T-moblie does have unlimited moblie to moblie minutes, but they don't have the same area coverage that cingular has. I actually switched to t-moblie from cingular, and there is definitely less signal strenght on T-moblie.

That aside, you should tell your mom how you feel. Be honest! Tell her you really appreciate what she did, but that you're unsure. She obviously cares about you, and I'm sure she would rather give you the thing that makes you happy. Just remain positive, and make sure she knows how much you appreciate her!


I have green eyes, pale skin, brown hair, and freckles. Does anyone have any good make up ideas? I have heard that brown eye shadow is good, but anything else? I don't like to wear bronzer because it makes me look fake.

Next time you go to the store, look for Almay Intense i-Color. Almay sells these little kits that have three different colors of eye-shadow and an eyeliner in them. They make different sets for different eye colors, and they even show you the best way to blend the colors to really make your eyes stand out. Best thing about it is- it's affordable and looks great.


If you put a white rose in a glass of water with purple food dye, would you get a purple rose in a few days? Would it die more quickly because it has dye and all? (link)
It will last just as long as if it were in regular water. If you want the rose to live longer, then add some plant food.

As for the color: it will change slowly, and probably not at an ever rate. When I color flowers, usually the edges of the petal are the darkest in color and then it fades out! It's actually a kind of cool effect.


Okay, so me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost 3 months now and I really like him...but the other day we had a really big argument and he broke up with me and we spent 2 hours on the phone and by the end of that we were back together. The day after that he tells me he'll be home early to talk to me and he his but he says he has to run to the store and get something so I wait for him to call back. When he finally calls back he's with his friend (who i hate and is the biggest jerk I've met) and I kinda get upset because I haven't had a good day and I just want to talk to him and his friend starts insulting me and my boyfriend starts laughing at me and then he gives the phone to his friend. They start drinking and they're insulting me to the point I'm crying. I really love my boyfriend and when he's not around his friend he's the nicest guy I know but I dont know what I should do about it.

You can tell a lot about a person's real character by how they act when they're around their friends. If I were you, I would break up with him now before you waste more time on a guy that isn't who you really think he is.
Breaking up sucks, but the sooner you let the bad ones go, the sooner you will meet a guy that actually treats you right.

If he makes you cry, insults you, and lies to you, then it's time to let him go and find someone better!


I've been running on my treadmill since late October and since then I have lost 9-11 pounds. (I used to weigh 136-137 but now I am around the 125-127 range) My goal weight is 118-120, is there any way I can get down there? Because it seems as if lately, these past two months haven't contributed much. & I read somewhere that when your body burns fat after exercise, & you aren't seeing anymore results after a while, that you have to start doing MORE.

I run 5.5 (heavy jog) on the treadmill for 15 minutes every other day, do some kind of LIGHT weight lifting, and also do 5 reps of 25 sets of workout ball crunches.

Also, I eat normal foods, I am just very careful about how I eat it...like, I won't overeat or anything. I'll eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm not.

Also, is it better to workout everday or every other day? I always feel guilty about skipping days, but I heard it was actually more beneficial for every other day. (link)
First of all: congrats on living a healthy life-style! It good to be thoughtful about your body, but just make sure you aren't too obsessed about weight loss.

One reason that your weight has leveled off could be that you've lost most of the fat and now it is turning into muscle. If this is the case, then don't judge your progress by weight loss, but rather by the way your clothes fit. Muscle actually weighs more, so it could be that you are still thinning down, but are no longer shedding the pounds.

Also, if you feel like working out every day, make sure you vary your workout. Do weights one day and cardio the next. The important thing is that you don't stress out your muscles too badly. Not to say that you shouldn't push yourself! If your muscles are still tired from the last workout you have a higher chance of injuring yourself.

Just take it at a steady pace, and relax! It sounds like you are already quite healthy.


I know that 13-year-olds shouldn't be wearing a lot of makeup. Is colored lip gloss ok? (mine is dark purple) (link)
Wear whatever makes you feel good, but please keep this one thing in mind: Make-up is meant to compliment your features, not cover them up!

I started wearing lip-gloss and a little eye shadow when I was around your age. Just keep it natural and have fun with it!
