If I want to start/own my own clothing line, what would I need to major in in college?
[ ] Want to answer more questions in the Work & School category? Maybe give some free advice about: Colleges & Universities?
I would double major if I were you. Many schools offer degrees in entreprenuership which I think would help you the most. You probably already know a little bit about fashion, but it never hurts to learn more.
Whatever you do, go in with an open mind. College will show you tons of degrees and oppertunities that you never knew existed! I would sign up for a degree you are interested in, but take general education classes your first semester, so that if you do change your major you won't have wasted any time.
Best of luck! ]
Don't major in Fashion Design or Art!! It won't help you run a business! Major in Management or Marketing! They are both subcategories of a Business degree. It is a difficult degree but I promise it will pay off. ]
well to start your own business it would be important to know a lot about business, economics, and obviously fashion ]
Fashion Design. ]
I would reccomend business and fashion design, business is more important if you're really serious about owning it since oyu'll have to keep track of everything, plus it's a useful major if you have to switch plans for any reason. ]
There are a couple of possible majors, including:
General Design Major
Art
Drawing
Fashion Design
Fashion Merchandising
Fiber, Textiles, and Weaving Arts
and some more. I found this at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location).
Very good site to go to for this sort of thing.
