how do u tell if a louis vituonn purse is real or not..my cousin gave it to my sister and my sister handed it down to me...is there anyway you can tell
Imperialistic answered Monday January 23 2006, 6:54 pm: Honestly? There are a few counterfeits that are so professionally made that it is hard to distinguish the fake from the real ones. The counterfeit industry is -huge- and fakes are getting harder to find out.
I would recommend you check this website out. This woman has written three pages on Louis Vuitton fakes: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
amandax33 answered Monday January 23 2006, 6:35 pm: Yes, Its very obvious if its a fake
-The leather will be really dull and not look real at all.. You will know.
-The logo on the purse wont be LV.
-Check if it was made in china. If it was then its a knock off , It it was made in france than you got yourself a REAL Louis vittoun purse.
-It will also look really bad stiching..
DancinCutie08 answered Monday January 23 2006, 6:34 pm: well the have certificates and if you take it to a retailer that sells them they can look it up to see if its real. also the lining of it is different then the fake ones... i believe its velvety [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
Karen answered Monday January 23 2006, 5:29 pm: You can tell if a Louis Vuitton bag is fake if the bag is poorly sewn, the monogram is off, and the seams are uneven. If a serial number is not provided, than your bag is most likely fake. There should be a Louis Vuitton label on the inside of the bag and if there is one, than it's real. jbdreamer answered Monday January 23 2006, 4:43 pm: Look at the craftsmanship. Everything should be perfectly stitched and lined up. There should be no funny puckering or loose/sloppy stitches. The zipper should close smoothly. I can always tell a fake LV from a mile away. The letters don't line up or the pattern is a little crooked.
xomegaroni answered Monday January 23 2006, 4:42 pm: im good at this haha =) okay on the louie vuitton purse there has to be a few things-
1- on the inside there's a thing printed on the pocket er on the opposite side that says Louie V 'blah blah blah' and it's leatherish.
2- there's a number in it, like a serial number on a little tag thing
3- the LV's on the outside, the actually LVs, not the pattern, doesn't touch any side meaning the print doesn't run into the corners er the sides er the top er bottom of the purse.
4- the zippers should have LV on them.
then there's obviously reasons like weird coloring, the inside feels weird.
here's the louis vuitton site if you want to compare it-
