This is really weird and random, but has anyone seen the movie or opera "The Phantom of the Opera"? You know how Erik has that mask that covers half of his face? How does he get it to stay on? I didn't see and strings around his head to hold it in place
OnlyTheRightAnswers answered Sunday January 22 2006, 1:24 pm: I'm sure they use a special kind of stage glue or putty to make sure the mask doesn't fall off. But as for how we're supposed to think it stays on storywise, maybe the disfiguration on his face has a gluelike quality that allows him to slap on the mask for as long as he desires. :) [ OnlyTheRightAnswers's advice column | Ask OnlyTheRightAnswers A Question ]

I actually saw both, the movie and the opera.
I got the chance to meet the actor who was playing Erik in the show and i asked him that exact same question. He said they use special kind of glue that keeps the mask on for hours. I'm pretty sure they do the same in the movie.
