Science & Tech program

Question Posted Saturday January 14 2006, 1:58 pm

Hey all. Well, I took an entrance exam for this program called the Science & Tech program to get into this good High School (Eleanor Roosevelt High School- in Maryland). This program is pretty competitive because a lot of people apply (somewhere in the thousands) aroung the county and only about 10-15 percent get accepted-250 people or so. I was wondering if my grades are good enough (Math Science Soc. Studies Lang. Arts Only grades counted):
7th grade 8th grade:
Math: B A B A A
Science: A C B A A
Soc. Studies:A B A A A
Lang. Arts: A A B A A

Please tell me if or if not these grades are good enough. Thanks!

Hiya!

You won't be able to tell unless you know what grades everybody else got.
You also don't say what the entry requirements are.
They look like pretty good grades to me though!!!
You should be proud of how well you have done!!

GOOD LUCK!!! HOPE YOU GET IN!!!

Mel xx

Well I think that with a school that is that selective, then those B's and C's are probably gonna hurt you more than help you. If you had all A's then you'de most liely be in for sure but with these grades I think you've got a good chance at still getting in.

well..it depends on if those classes are higher level or honors level or something like that or just on-level -meaning everyone else took them too-. i would say that your language arts and social studies grades are very good, your math could use a little improvement, and that you need to focus more on science. it also depends on what the other kids got. so if your grades were the highest in your classes, then yes you will probably -in my opinion- get accepted.

and just so you know...i really don't think colleges care what high school you went to. so dont cry for weeks if you arent accepted or start cutting or anything like that -lol- because colleges care about what your grades in high school are and what classes you took, NOT the high school you went to. so DONT stress about it.

Without knowing exactly what the program is looking for in grades, it's hard to say whether your grades are good enough or not. I would suggest speaking to your guidance counselor. They can probably give you more detailed information.
