When man forgets flying altogether [hang-gliding, wind surfing, jets, planes, helicopters etc.], he will forget about Wilburt and Orville Wright.

Why would man need to remember the Wright brothers (they invented the first airplane) if man doesn't remember flying?

well basically (very basically...maybe too basically...) the Wrights invented the airplane, the "wings" are a reference to wings of a plane which allow man to fly. Hence until planes are forgotten, the wrights will not be since they invented it...

The Wright brothers were the first to develop an effective airplane. I think the line means that until man forgets his wish to fly, he won't forget the Wright brothers because they made it possible.
