Engineering is soooo awesome as well. My dads an engineer. He loves his job. I was the opposite of you; i thought my "job" was engineering because it runs in my family. My dad told me that if you love physics, mathematics, and if you can be very stubborn, then engineering might be the path for you. If you love to build, plan.. anything like that.. then engineering is a cool thing to do.
Medicine on the other hand involves more Chemistry, Bio.. (you know this already).. well, if you have a passion to help others in the sense of health, then go medicine.
All in all, You are still only in tenth,(10th grade I'm guessing). You have time to decide. My words of wisdom is to reach for your dream because in the end, it's your life you're living, not your parents'.
*I dont know about where you live, but here in Canada, you can become an engineer and go to medical school. There are also Medical engineers now-a-days!
Good luck in school and ask if you need anything else!
I hope I helped:D [ lind12's advice column | Ask lind12 A Question ]

You may meet with some resistance by not following in the footsteps of the rest of your family. But, nothing is worse than feeling you HAVE to do or be something to make others happy.
What a miserable life you would have!
