DonutHolez567 answered Thursday December 22 2005, 6:29 pm: i would try chewing on something such as chewing cum or even altiods or some candy or mint of some kind to suck on to take you mind off it. this worked for me, just consantly have mints or small candies on hand. (hope this helped). [ DonutHolez567's advice column | Ask DonutHolez567 A Question ]
pugluver answered Thursday December 22 2005, 4:54 pm: you can put a coat of the nail polish that hardens your nails and taste really bad so when you bite your nails you will get a really bad taste in your mouth and not do it so often and if you keep putting more coats on when your finished with your first on soon you wont bite them at all worked for me [ pugluver's advice column | Ask pugluver A Question ]

naimee answered Thursday December 22 2005, 3:48 pm: Don't worry about it, so many people have habits that are hard to break. =] You could try, dark nail polish, if you keep them painted a dark color you are less likely to chew on them knowing you could potentially get dark specs all over your teeth. You can also buy stuff called, "Mavala Stop for Nail biting & thumb sucking." & "Orly no bite" I'm not sure where you can get them, but maybe try CVS or Walgreens? Maybe paint your nails or make them pretty? It might help because you won't want to ruin your nails when they're freshly painted. =) Chewing gum can also keep your mind off of biting your nails. jj_u_i_c_y answered Thursday December 22 2005, 3:41 pm: Hey hun; i had the same problem. What helped me was getting manicures, or just doing them myself. Like by putting the nail polish on and getting it done you just dont have as much of an urge cus of how like pretty it looks i guess.
Karen answered Thursday December 22 2005, 3:33 pm: It's not weird, I've had this problem years ago also. There is a clear nail polish that you could buy that has a digusting taste to it and this will work. I think Sally Hansen has a nail polish like this, but I'm not sure. Put it on your nails and when you go to bite your fingernails, you'll taste this nail polish. You could also dip your fingers in vinegar, which is pretty much the same thing as this nail polish deal.
