That is SOO unproffesional of this man!!! I can't believe that this is still going on in America in year 2005!!! This sounds like something that would have happened during the 60's.
If I were you, I would start a petition against this teacher. I knew a kid when I was in highschool that got over 200 signatures to try to get a teacher that everyone hated fired. It didnt work though because he had been teaching for over 30 years, and I guess if you've been teaching that long you CAN"T get fired. But I livve in Canada, so things might be different. Start your petition, and get all the black students to sign. I would also keep a journal and write down every racist thing this creep does. Make sure you date it and sign it. If that doesnt work, go to the principle or heck even the superintendint of the school district, whoever has the most power. Write a letter to the editor of the local paper, and start out by saying"Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King helped the blacks of this country to achieve there rights, yet there is still bigotry and intolerance at (whatever schools name) from a certain teacher.
Remember, just because you are young and inexperienced in life does NOT give that man the right to treat you any less better you are black.
Good luck

If he tries to shut you up keep talking because he can not lay a finger on you and make him know that you know that. Get the other black kids' attention in the class, have them say something! Any more questions drop them in my box. I am black also so I get this kind of stuff and yeah, its happened to me too. [ tapdiva's advice column | Ask tapdiva A Question ]

Now, you can do 2 things in my opinion.Firstly, you could talk to the headmaster. Tell him what is going on and all these things you find unfair...
The second and the best thing(as i see it) you SHOULD do is to talk to your teacher. He is not good at all but in my opinion everyone can have a second chance. Tell him what you believe. Don't tell that you think he does it because you are black and don't mention the other girl. This will not help. You could tell him this:" Sir, i would like to talk to you... I think that something is not ok here. I see that you are not behaving to me in the right way. I have a problem with that. I know, maybe i am wrong but tell it to me if i am. I see you getting angry if i will do something you don't like. I am a kid and i am learning from my mistakes so i don't find making mistakes that terrible. Do you understand me? Forgive me if i am rude or if you think that i shouldn't talk like that but i thought that the most correct and fair thing was to talk to you. Tell me! Is there any problem with me?" Let him answer. Then i am sure that his behaviour will change. If not tell it to the headmaster. Not before.
I hope i helped...:):):) [ smile's advice column | Ask smile A Question ]
