Forensics and Anatomy

Question Posted Friday December 9 2005, 1:30 pm

this is for anyone who has taken either Forensic Science, or Anatomy, or both.

so, my dream is to do something in the career of criminology, like a forensic scientist or FBI agent, anything in this study.
i am only in 11th grade, and next year i plan on taking Forensics, but i want to take anatomy as well.
Would this be too hard to do, or a good start for what i want to do as a career?

Well a forensic scientist and an agent are very different. There are many options to choose from and many agencies also. If you want a career as an Agent, then I suggest you study Criminology, Criminal Justice, Police sciences and Constitutional Law while in school because this is re-taught when you enter into any law enforcement academy. For a forensic scientist, stick to forensics, anatomy, biology and chemistry. The FBI isn't your only option. Personally, I don't think the FBI is that great as they're cracked up to be, but they have a great job nonetheless. Look into the Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, ATF, U.S. Customs because they all take the same Treasury Enforcement Exam. Recently the Secret Service was transferred to the Dept of Homeland Security from the Treasury. I highly recommend the Secret Service, they do everything from protecting the President to investigating anything counterfeit or fraudulent with U.S money, which is in fact why they were created in the first place in 1865. Their duties of protecting the President did not come along until after William McKinley was shot in 1901. Research all your federal and even the city you live in police departments.
