Ivy921 answered Tuesday December 13 2005, 8:32 pm: yes, it is totally ok to have intercourse in your 12th week. In fact, your second trimester you are going to start to feel really good again, not like your first trimester and you are probably going to want to do it more and go ahead. only stop if its causing discomfort to you. the baby can't feel it. i also you suggest you get the book What to Expect When You are Expecting. It pretty much answers all of your questions. Good luck and congrats [ Ivy921's advice column | Ask Ivy921 A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Thursday December 8 2005, 4:18 pm: It isn't unsafe at all to have sex while a woman is pregnant. It's (from what I hear) very healthy for both mother and child. However, I would assume that it could become uncomfortable during intercourse when a woman reaches her 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th month of pregnancy. I guess you could just shift to a different position that would be more comfortable?
But really, it's safe to have sex ANY time during pregnancy up until the delivery.
angelmcclain answered Thursday December 8 2005, 2:56 pm: i was told during both of my pregnancys that intercorse is very safe all the way till labor, and in some cases it can help start labor. i was advised though that anal sex and use of dildos or vibrators is harmful. hope i helped. ncblondie answered Thursday December 8 2005, 12:36 pm: Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I would ask your ob/gyn just to be on the safe side. I'm almost 15 weeks along myself. I asked my ob/gyn this question at one of my earlier appointments and this is what she said.
Unless the ob/gyn recommends against it, you can safely have intercourse. You do have to make a few changes to protect the baby and account for your changing body. Generally any chest to chest positions are out since they put pressure on your abdomen. Positions where the woman is on top is okay as long as you're extremely careful not to lose your balance and fall. She recommended the spooning position (on your side with his chest against your back). She also recommended gentler lovemaking. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
brokenagain answered Thursday December 8 2005, 12:20 pm: sex is safe while preganat-it is actually better! people actually have sex towards the end of a preganacy to help the dilation along. So you can have it whenever-it will not hurt the baby. [ brokenagain's advice column | Ask brokenagain A Question ]

karenR answered Thursday December 8 2005, 7:51 am: You know, Most people I know have had sex clear up until the day the baby was born.
It gets a little awkward for the woman once she gets bigger. Just change to a more comfortable position for her and there won't be a problem.
If you are still concerned about it, go with her to her next doctors appointment and speak with him about it. I am sure he can reassure you and answer all your questions. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
