In order to get closer to someone, you need to hang out with them as often as possible..but not too much, or you may get sick of each other. Let him know you like him, you can just say "I don't expect you to say anything back, or have the same feelings..I just want you to know I like you." see what he says, maybe t hat will help you guys become closer. It's hard to tell when a guy likes you. Some are sneaky and lead you to think they like you when really, they don't at all. It depends on the type of boy you're crushing on. Think about the things he says to you, you should find out whether he likes you or not.

HEY! well one way to get closer to the guy is just start talking to him like a lot more. not annoying like or anything, but just talk and get to be really good friends and maybe once your good friends, he'll start feelin like makin some moves!
