How/where can you get myspace layouts or even just background colors and all that?

i dont know about myspace but i have xanga and there are people who have layouts on their site and you copy + paste it into yours but i am not sure about myspace

You can search it at the top searchbar on myspace. Just put myspace layouts or something like that. Or, you can also go to layoutsbykt. That's what I use... hope that helped.
