birth control

Question Posted Monday November 21 2005, 3:26 pm

i was on birth control for about a year and i just recently stopped because me and my boyfriend broke up. i figured i didn't need to be on it if i wasn't going to be sexually active. so now that i'm not on it is my period going to be really messed up? i'm just wondering so i'll be aware of this..

well it depends if your period started off regular when you started the pill..because if it started regular it will probaly be a few weeks until your period gets back on schdule then you will probaly start having regular periods again..

It depends if your period was regular to begin with. If it was irregular when you went on the pill, it will probably go back to doing the same. If it was regular to start with, it may take a month or two after going off the pill before it gets back on schedule.

If your period was irregular before hand, then chances are that it will go back to the way it was. Birth Control Pills regulate your period for you. The hormones in them prevent ovulation. No ovulation no pregnancy. Once you stop the hormone flow into your body it will revert to the way it was before.

no. it might be at the beginning. but my honest opinion is that you should take them still. even tho you are broken up. i`m not sexually active. but i want to be safe. cuz you kno it only takes that one time to get pregnant. so yeah.* ♥x0x

yeah, i thought the same thing, when i broke up with my boyfriend i went off it cuz i didnt think it mattered. well it does, cuz it messed my period up alot, and i was told not to just stop it like that sudden and everything. just keep taking since you have been on it you have to stay unless the doctor takes you off.

Yeah, it might take a few months for it to get back to how it used to be.
