Bump on back?

Question Posted Sunday November 6 2005, 9:21 pm

On the lower part of the left side of my back I have this hard lump. It almost feels like a bug bite whenever I poke it, but it's just really hard. It's shaped almost like an egg. I have no idea what this is, does anyone else know??

hey I know your questions was from a while ago but my dad had something like that on his arm. It could be just a lump filled with puss or it may be a bump from hitting yourself. It might go away over time my dads did. I can't be sure because unfortunately I am not a doctor aqnd I have not seen the bump, but as someone else said before it is NOT scoliosis dont worry she was wrong because I KNOW what scoliosis is I got x-rays for it! To be sure see a doctor or tell your parents! hope it helps much luv

It sounds like it could be a tumor but the best thing is to check with a doctor b/c if you dont it could be serious. If it is kind of big ad really hard. Those are what tumors are but if it is red and a little hard it may be a pimple but i am pretty sure it is a tumor.

It could be a cyst. It could be a tumor. It could be a spider bite. It could be some kind of bug bite.

I'm not a doctor, and I doubt anyone on this site is. I mean, 90% of the population of this site is 13 year old girls.

Your best bet would be to go to a doctor and get it checked out. You'll know for sure, you'll know if there is a serious problem, or if it's nothing to worry about.

But seriously, you really should go to a doctor. You never know how serious something can be.

just wait a while.
If it gets worse in 3 days go to a doctor.
if it starts to reduce after a week, just ignore it, it will go away.
If it disappears by tomorrow, YIPEE!
the only thing you can do is probably put some neosporin on in for the meanwhile.

I don't know what it is but if it hurts I would go see a doctor. It sounds serious and you might be alergic to something so your best choice is to go see a docter.
Hope it gets better!:)

It may indeed be a bug/spider bite, especially if it is itchy at all. Some bites will get quite large and hard as you have described. It sounds harmless, but if after a while it spreads or doesn't seem to be going away, contact the doctor immediately, better be safe than sorry.

i actually have NO idea what that might be.... if its really big and sticks out a lot.... then it may be something serious....it is just wide and red, it may just be a big mosquito bite or something.... i know one time i had a mosquito bite and it turned out to cover most of my lower leg. And it also depends on how long its been there. If its been there long.... somethings going on, but if its just been there a few days... it'll die down in a few days. But make sure to tell an adult right away. I hope i helped!
