Question Posted Saturday November 5 2005, 6:53 pm

1. I am a Christian and I always fall asleep when I pray which means I never finish my prayer. I did it for like a month now? How can I prevent this.

If I am very tired, but need to pray, I will stand up to prevent me from falling asleep.
Kneeling, or even just sitting up in bed will help.

you could:
--pray while running or doing some sort of exersize.
-pray while standing up
-listen to upbeat music{preferably christian} when you pray
-pray to god about and ask him to help you not to fall asleep when your praying{when your excersizing, standing up, or listening to music}

Get on your knees by your bed and pray, that way, you won't fall asleep just kneeling there.

Try praying when you're not exactally ready for bed. Maybe pray first then put your pajamas on, then go to bed. Or pray with the light on. If that doesn't help, just remember: you don't HAVE to pray with your eyes closed.

Don't pray right before you fall asleep.

Haha, I do the same thing. In fact, I did it last night. All I knew was that one second I was praying and the next I was awake and it was sunny. =P

Try praying a few minutes before you go to bed so you can't fall asleep. Try praying standing up.

It's really easy to "fix", but don't worry about it. You're not the only one who's ever done it, and it's definitely not a sin.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! That is hiliarious. all you have to do well is nothing. Because god knows if your doing the right thing. If you go to school respect the parents and of coarse dont get into any trouble you will be respecting god in that way. Now you want to pray then just set a goal, sounds funny? well your prayers don't have to be that long for you to fall asleep.

pray in the daytime when your not so tired. (i'm assuming you pray before you go to bed) also, sitting up will help you to not feel as tired. hope this helps!
