When you get home go to a place in the house where it is quiet and nobody is around. Have a desk with all the pencils, ruler (etc.) that you need so that you won't have to get up and maybe get distracted. Try to concentrate on your work and keep your mind off other things. Maybe have a drink and lock your door so that you won't leave and get distracted.

when you're doing homework..try listening to some music with it. that way it won't seem AS boring and you will still be able to get it done. after you finish and you're still bored, call some friends up and get out of the house!!! hope this helps.

A short attention span would explain both your boredom and your distractability. If you don't have trouble paying attention in school, then you aren't suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder. Another cause of a short attention span is simply a lack of interest in what you are attending to.

You need to do your homework, so if you can't get it done at home, then try doing it elsewhere, such as the library or a cafe. Some people concentrate better with background noise.

If you are otherwise generally bored at home, but not at school, then you aren't finding sufficiently stimulating pastimes at home. Find a new hobby, or get out of the house.

If you were just distracted I would have said you have too much on your mind. If you were just bored I would have said you have too little on your mind. But if you are both bored and distracted, then you have the WRONG sorts of things on your mind. The RIGHT sorts of things to have on your mind are those that are meaningful to you. Find your passion.

When you're bored:

Call a friend
Go on AIM or MSN and chat with friends ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location) to download)
Watch tv
Go rent a movie from Blockbuster
Invite a friend over your house
Make a website ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location))
Go to the mall
Listen to music

How to not get disctracted:
Turn off the tv, go in your room, turn on soft music, sit down, take out your homework, and concentrate on that ONLY. Don't watch tv while doing homework, or don't talk on the phone while doing homework either, so you won't get discracted by anything.

Well if your getting distracted try to set a goal for yourself. Like when I get home I try to see how long it will take me to do my homework in whatever subject...then the next day I try to brake that time by doing it quicker. It helps you get your Homework or studing done and then you can do whatever your hobby is. Or just go talk with some friends. I hope that helps.

I know just how you feel and it sucks when that happens. A good way to stay on task is to reward yourself for doing so. I remember I used to have to give myself treats for every math problem I did. It sounds really dumb, but it actually works. I'd get out some candy or something and set it in front of me and I could only eat a piece of it when my homework was done. It doesn't have to be just food either, you can use any other things you can think of. When you get home from school to keep from getting bored you can watch tv or movies, play a video game, make yourself a snack, and there's lots of boredom tools on the internet. I hope that I was able to help and good luck!
