the corvette is one of the most reliable american cars money can buy. but $8900 is a pretty bad price for an 89 corvette when they can be had with their original engine for less. the seller is charging you for an engine he dropped into it and you haven't said the type of engine at all. is it the chevy LS1 engine, the 350, the 427, the LT1, the LS2? you can't trust a new engine dropped into a car that has a very reliable engine to begin with. i don't trust this seller, plus you sound like a teenager. and a corvette is a terrible idea for someone under the age of 25 as the insurance costs on a corvette are through the roof as is. i'd suggest looking at something less sports car, and something more of a sedan.

Depends on how well the owner took care of it. Before looking to BUY anything like that you need to ask the owner questions about the car's history.
