sarah0308 answered Friday October 14 2005, 4:30 pm: hey!! i love softball (in fact, i have a tournament tomorrow).. so i can help you.. hopefully!!
tips: practice as much as you possibly can.. throw with a friend.. go out in your backyard and through the ball up and hit it.. get someone to hit you popflies and grounders.. dont be afraid to dive for balls and get dirty..
what to wear: i would just wear shorts (adidas, nikes) and a shirt.. dont wear short shorts or a tight shirt..
take: glove, cleats, bat and helmet(if you have them).. thats all i can think of
alright, well good luck and have fun!!! [ sarah0308's advice column | Ask sarah0308 A Question ]

play with a friend before tryouts ..play catch with dad or a friend who knows their stuff..this way they can give you pointers if they see your doing something wrong
bring cleets..ur glove..water
wear what the weather calls for..if its gonna be a hot day..wear shorts..if you want some extra protection for your knees when you slide, fall, etc..wear pants.
