Hi, I live with my grandparents. My grandmaw doesnt want me to wear thongs or use tampons. I was in the shower last weekend, and I had two thongs in the dryer with my clothes. My grandmaw took my clothes out and saw them. I think she threw them away. So let me get to my question; what can i do about her, because she is so old fashion, how can i have thongs and use tampons with out her knowing about this and doing something stupid.

well you could always do your own londry and ur own shoping keep the thongs in the bottom of the drawer and hide your tampons in your room what your name mines taylor i live in frorida ? im 13/f

Well, take her out to lunch or something, and explain to her that thongs are JUST underwear. So basically she's not letting you wear underwear? Hmmm... As for the tampon thing, it is just GROSS to use pads. Tell her it's YOUR life (not in a disrespectful way, though) and you should be able to choose your underwear, etc. Good luck!

Try to do the laundry when she isn't around. Hide those thongs! Hide your tampons good too. If you have to, keep them in your room and only take one to the bathroom when you need a change.
You can always try a talk with her too, sometimes it helps but with grandparents... it's hard to change their mind on anything different. Meh. Goodluck.

I suggest that you get a little basket small enough tto fit in your closet and hide it somewhere so that she can't find it and the tampon situation you can always store those in your purse.

Try and talk to her. Give her reasons for wearing them (tampons) or using them and tell her the advantage of them. Ask her why she doesn't approve of them.
About the thongs... Try avoiding going behind her back. If she finds out then you will have broken a major trust bond with her.

I think you should talk to your grandma about the tampons at least. That is a reasonable discussion, but the thong is just really not a big deal. You are a 13 year old girl. Thongs are really not that important. And don't think that I'm saying you should just deal with "granny panties", there are string bikini and others in the middle that are decent. Banning you from thongs isn't old fashion. Its being decent as a good guardian would be. There isn't a reason you shouldn't be able to wear tampons though.

you should just talk to her and explain y you want them and if she doesnt understand then you can just hide tampons and wash your thongs when she isnt home or somthing...
