Because you don't get them if you don't have herpes. The kind on your lips is not an STD though. [ TRAGiCxWH0REx3's advice column | Ask TRAGiCxWH0REx3 A Question ]

You can eat the gelatin coating after if you want 2, its doesn't harm you. Also try blistex cold sore stuff, works good for me. I hope this helps and if not, sorry and good luck! karenR answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 4:24 pm: Actually cold sores are a form of herpes. So are chicken pox. But everyone gets them. You just don't want them on your private parts!
This works very good to make them go away fast. It is VERY VERY sour though so be warned. It will be gone by the next day.
Buy some alum. It is a pickling spice and can usually be found in the spices section of the grocery store.
Get a little of the alum on your finger and put it on the cold sore. Get ready to pucker 'cause it is sour. But, it works. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
