Use Herbal Essences Mousse. It makes it look really good without being poofy. Use hairspray too. It makes it crunchy kind of, if you like it that way. That's the way I do it and it doesn't get frizzy or anything. Don't use too much though! ]
Hiya!
Well, first you should take a shower so your hair is wet. Then, you can use this great stuff called "Patene Pro-V spray gel". Its amazing. My hairs thick too so I have that problem with poofiness. You should spray it all over. Especially the top, cause you dont want flyaways.
Happy scrunching!

Perhaps a conditioner would soften your hair? ]
the advice i can give you is to also run your fingures through ur hair while scrunckin it. i used to have the same problem but i did that and it fixed.

I have the same problem and it totally sucks, so I asked my hairdresser whta to do so this is pretty much her advice....she said that people with our hair shoudn't do it because it dries our hair oput and make s it more poofy!...well i've never tried what one of the people who answered your questions siad but..i guess you could try it but it might dry out your hair so before you do it..put some skinny serum in your hair....i recommend frizz ease brand! if worse comes to worse just get a perm! good luck! ♥ caitie ]
hey
i have the same kinda problem.
what i do is this (its weird but it works)
1) straighten
2) plait into bunches or if your hair is really thick but it into loadsa different plaits every where USE PLENTY OF MOOSE (sp?)
3) leave for a few hours... depending on how long you have
4) take out the plaits and apply a tiny bit of some kind of curl cream to help curls form
5) scrunch
it works for me but hey... if all else fails get a perm!! lol (no dont they go wrong)
hope i helped...

I have VERY thick hair (I'm just lucky it's not poofy) But when I go to get my hair cut I ask them to "thin it out". They have these special scissor looking things that have weird edges and it thins out your hair. It's pretty neat, actually. As for the poofyness. You can pay a LOT of money to get a perm and it will be straight forever but I think thats about 400 dollars. Or you can buy a straigtener, they range from 30-100 dollars and you can use it every morning. ]
