I'm getting braces October 3rd and I need help. Do they hurt? What color bands should I get? (I'm kind of preppy, brown hair and eyes.) What should I eat afterward? And all the other things about braces.

Don't be scared it doesn't hurt. I'm 14 and they numb your numb when you get braces so you can't feel anything your mouth will just get really tired because you have to hold it open for a long time. Here are some color choices hot pink and lime green, baby blue and light pink, light purple and hot pink, hot pink and black, pink and whit, red and pink.

first of all dont bribe peopl with 5's... ok braces from what i hear theu don't really hert just when they are tightening them and thats all and as far as the color bands i say pink and orange or blue and green but i think you should just get your favorite colors because you get them changed like every 6 weeks or something like that so it really doesnt matter if it matches your hair hope i helped some

Well your in luck because I had braces. What you should NEVER eat is hard candies which can break your brackets and carmel,apples and stuff like that. They can get stuck in your braces. I think you should get blue. You can change them everytime you go in for an appointment. Braces can hurt because you're not used to them. Afterwards, they'll probably put you on retainers which you'll probably have to wear for a while. Good luck! Hope I helped!

They will probably hurt for a couple of days because your teeth aren't used to having something be so tight on them. I stuck to milkshakes, pudding, and jello for the first couple of days. Don't worry too much about what colors to get--by the end of your time with braces, you'll be sick of picking them out:-)

they dont hurt, but your mouth is soar after, so eat before you go, not when you get back. get your favorite colored bands, or just get a color or colors, that match most of your clothes. DONT EAT AFTERWORD, but you would probably figure that out after because your soar for a couple of days. umm their usually on for 2 years. if you want to know any other questions about braces, or anything else, just send me a question.

alright. well i have them on now for my 3rd time...the colors i have are lime green and pink..it looks cool..i have brown and and brownish greenish bule eyes. they dont hurt when they put them on..but after like an hour or so they will start to hurt. so take some advil or something like that. after you get them on you can eat what ever you want basically, but if they hurt i would suggest something soft like icecream, soups or jello or applesauce stuff like that. the brackets will give you sores on the inside of your mouth that feel like kanker sores (sp?)...but they give you wax to put on the bracket. um if you have any other questions...feel free to ask me!

I have brown hair and eyes and teal is one of the best colors for brunettes with braces. Don't get any pastel colors because they make your teeth look really really yellowish. But either pick teal or any color that's NOT a pastel. Also don't get white or clear. Food stains them and they end up being this wierd pink color.
Eat applesauce, yogurt, and drink NOTHING that requires a straw. also take asprin before you get them on. They will hurt really bad the first time, but they hurt less and less the longer you have them on. Just eat as much gum and popcorn as possible and DON'T eat stale tootsie rolls. That's orthodonture suicide. lol
They will suck, but be happy that in a few months- a few years you'll have perfectly straight teeth for the rest of your life!

Get light blue or purple. there hot. It didnt hurt at all for me but it feels strange, not necisarilly in a bad way though. After mine i ate a burger and onion rings from burgerking, and a iced cap from tim hortons. lol. DONT EAT CORN ON THE COB. Its really gross lol. uhmm if you need anything else just ask.

well it not that bad of pain but yea sort of for about 3 days you can get them any color your favorite colors you might even get to have them to different colors well for me at least.

Getting them on doesn't hurt, and for the first few hours they won't hurt, but they do feel a little strange. Later in the day you'll notice that your mouth is getting a little sore, so take an ibueprofen or something and that should stop the pain. Take a second one if the first doesn't work within the first 15-20 minutes, but make sure to follow the directions on the bottle first just in case so that you don't overdose. =)
The pain will only last for a few days, then you get really used to the braces and they only hurt a little bit when they're tightened.

I myself have never had braces but my sister and brother have and they said they dont hurt to bad except when u get them tightened!
And for the colors...if yur preppy (like me lol) i would go with maybe pink n' blue or blue n' orane or green n' pink are all really cute!!!
My suggestions are not to get white or black
white makes yur teeth look yellow and black just wouldnt be good!!

okay i have braces hun, im preppy too, i think pink and blue are soo cute together, im not going to lie to your they hurt for like first 6-8 months you have them on, and usually every time you get them tightened, they tell your not to eat gum, i do anyways i would die, but if u need any more help IM on aol at c0ronacuti3xx

oh my it does not hurt at all!
eat soft stufff for a week. because when you bite, oh deah oh my. it hurts.

COLORS NOT TO GET!
black- liqurish in your teeth
green- salad but its not that bad
pink- oh my!
red- "are you bleeding?"
maroon- "whats wrong?"
light pink- (i have them and i have brown hair/brown eyes it looks fab)
those are the only ones i know EVERY dentist has.
