Maybe give some free advice about: School?
Several companies will help work with you if they know the funds are going to a school. Be resourceful and see how you can get a BBQ off the ground, donations of things, food etc assuming this is a school BBQ. That's good for the kids and teens. Also have a dance if possible with teens paying to get in.
For the adults if you need their money have someone arrange a theatre event or tickets to be sold for raffle, live entertainment somewhere. Also go to companies like McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc that help do school fundraisers. They do all of that.

Hey. Well it depepns who you are doing it with. If it's like a school thing than you can arrange an event of competition between classes or a talent show and sell tickets to it for $5 or something. if it's by yourself or an individual type of thing you can go downtown where they sell everything in wholesalery and buy (this is an example) two dozen braceletes for fifty cents each and sell them for two dollars and fifty cents each. Just let people know it's for a fundraiser, it works.
