Question Posted Thursday September 8 2005, 7:39 pm
Over the summer I lost about 10 lbs. And considering I was only 150 lbs to begin with, I'm now extreamly thin. I didn't lose the weight on purpose, I was just sick of like 3 weeks and I couldnt eat much at all. Well I really need to gain that weight back but the problem is that I'm a cheerleader so I'm constantly moving adn working out which obviously doesn't help with gaining weight. Does anyone know how I can gain it back? My coach just said that it will eventually come back on its own but I'm not sure if that's true.

Basically I just be myself and I become fat, so I really have no idea. I know what you should NOT do and that is binge on snacks because that's REALLY unhealthy. You will probably build up your muscles a lot working out and that will add to your weight. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]

Some of that stuff is far more dangerous than losing weight too rapidly. Your coach is right that with good eating and healthy habits you will gain it back. For now though there is a lot of things in the way of gaining strength let alone health back.
He won't like this and perhaps you will not either. Tell him you need three good weeks where there is no practice, no dancing, no workouts, no cheers to put weight on and get strength back. How the hell can you do all that with losing strength and that much weight. Put it on hold. Health comes first and see your doctor for what you ought to do. reddrose77 answered Thursday September 8 2005, 9:14 pm: Well, I understand you would like to get back to your normal weight. Just like your coach said, it will come back on its own...just keep eating how you usually eat. Maybe a little more since you're so active. But don't overdo it because believe me, the weight could sneak up on you and then you'll have gained those pounds back and then some! Just try not to really worry about it.
Hope this helps you some, and good luck with cheerleading!<3 [ reddrose77's advice column | Ask reddrose77 A Question ]
