When people say "Hope I helped!", that is so freaking annoying. Is anyone with me?

Maybe give some free advice about: Advicenators?
Not really. Sometimes people aren't sure if they were giving the right answer or not, and "hope I helped" shows that they were sincerely trying. Or they just want to be nice and make it a little more personal. I say "good luck" a lot, it's kind of the same thing. As long as they give good advice, it doesn't really matter to me. They could try to spice it up a little bit. Like maybe: "I sincerely hope I was able to provide you with help."

I think "Hope I helped" just depends on the particular question, and what their advice contributed to the situation. Sometimes I find it appropriate, other times highly irritating. What's worse, it when they tell people to rate them or check out their column. I can't stand that. =/

i can see how it could get annoying but i know i do it because i really care that the person gets the info they need, know what i mean? also what other way do you close the thought? "bye" is retarded. so i just do it, sorry it bothers you. <3

Maybe it can get repetitive sometimes, but it's not nescesarily annoying! It's a little way of noting that they hope their bit of advice was resourceful. That's all it is. Not something to fret over. But, I do see your view. The most annoying thing is when people give bad ratings and complain, just because they got an answer they didn't want to hear...not because it isn't helpful.

It's not that annoying, but it can be sometimes when it's over used. I guess it all depends, though. The thing that drives me nuts is when someone says something like this: "Hope I helped. Please rate me." It drives me insane.

Um it's not that annoying in my opinion. It's just when people 'hope they helped'. Maybe when people use it too much it gets sort of annoying, but I used to say that after answering a question. A lot of people just type it without thinking and sign their name or something. But this isn't really a question you're asking on advicenators... so I'd consider this not really important. And if you want to give me a 1 anyway (just for stating my opinion like this) then I don't really care because it would just mean you're immature.
