Problem that bugs me

Question Posted Monday September 5 2005, 12:58 pm

OK, One of my friends that I go out clubbing with is starting to annoy me. He is brilliant in every way, but everytime we go into the city, we take a taxi there and back and he always finds sneaky ways of getting out of paying for them.

For example, he'll say he'll just buy me a drink (and never does) or say he'll pay for it later, or just doesnt get out money to pay. Its starting to annoy me and it angers me.

We're going out again on Saturday but I need a way to make him realise that he has to pay and I'm not willing to, without seeming too petty.

Please give me advice!!

Well, what i would do, if i was in your shoes is talk to him about it, maybe in the taxi just tell him you are tired of him not paying for things and if he wants something to pay himself, another thing to do is just to go to the club and tell him you left your money back home and he has to pay, it might work!

Jeez, that would annoy me too. Taxis are expencive, dammit!

Try mentioning it to him before Saturday. Say "it's your turn to pay for the cap, alright?" or "remember to bring money for the taxi" or something along those lines.

If he tries saying he'll just buy you a drink agian, tell him that you will actually hold him to his promise this time. And do so.

If he tries to make you feel like you're being petty, remember that you're NOT. He's the one who's being cheap. Tell him it's not fair for him to use your money or for him to guilt-trip you into paying for him. You've been a good friend so far, he hasn't (reguarding this topic, I'm sure he's nice in other aspects). Do stand up for yourself.

I'm sorta confused on this...i'm confused with lots of stuff! Whatever... DOn't bring money and then he'll have to pay for things. Just like reach into your pocket and say "I think I left my wallet on the counter!" or something. Then say "Can you pay to make up for all the other times?"

I'm not sure if thats what your asking but I hope you solve your problem!
