TrustMe answered Sunday August 28 2005, 10:47 pm: cocoa butter is something that you cook with. and NOTHING can get rid of scars no matter wat you say, read, or hear. (unless it came from a doctor)
but if you don't believe me, go to the local food lion or other food stores and get it. it should be by the regular butter. good luck. [ TrustMe's advice column | Ask TrustMe A Question ]
MHScutie87 answered Sunday August 28 2005, 10:26 pm: Hmm.. I don't think that's true. But, I will recommend a scar fading cream that you can get at any conveinence store, such as ScarGuard or Micraderma (sp?). They're only about $8, and the stuff really works.
stalkingroxy911 answered Sunday August 28 2005, 8:39 pm: i dont think it will but you might as well try it. you can get it about any drug store, like walgreens or something like that.
TheOldOne answered Sunday August 28 2005, 8:19 pm: You can get cocoa butter at any drugstore, but I'm afraid that it won't help you with scars. It just softens and moisturizes your skin.
There are some new products being sold that supposedly can reduce the appearance of scars, but they're expensive and I don't know how well they work.
On the plus side, scars do fade over time. I had a big scar on my knee that took quite a few stitches, and it's almost totally invisible now; it took about ten years to get that way, but it did happen.
For severe scars, of course, plastic surgery may be an option. You may want to check with your doctor.
