sick?
I'm going to the doctors the day after tomorrow cause he doesnt have hours tomorrow. so dont tell me to go to the doctor cause thats annoying. I AM going.
anyway, my right tonsil is extremely swolen. its so big that I can feel it on my tongue.
And my right gland (the lymph node on my neck) is very swolen also.
ive been sick before, but never had swolen tonsils or glands.
How come its just the right side? anyone know what this could mean? people tell me I might need my tonsils out. is this true? please help if you know what youre talking about!

It sounds like you may have tonsilitis. It's easily treated with antibiotics. Probably only the right tonsil is infected, which is why only that side is swollen. The lymph node is swollen because your body is trying to fight the infection in your tonsils. Most doctors, as I understand it, won't take your tonsils out unless they are making it difficult for you to breath, are extremely enlarged, or you're prone to frequent infections in the tonsils. Of course, it depends on the doctor. Some will take out your tonsils at the first sign of a problem.

That happened to me and it was so swollen that I couldnt breath, it becomes dangerous when they swell like that because it can block your breathing like it did to me,a nd it would happen in my sleep and I could have died because of it if it cut off my air supply, lol. Anyways, yes i think it would be best to get your tonsils removed, you dont need them anyways and they put you asleep, and for about a week you eat lots of ice cream and jello, yumm =)

i dont think that you are going to have to get your tonsils out.....my brother has this thing where his left side is swollen and there are "craters" on it.....do you ever have things that just randomly come up in your mouth??..or do you feel like you have something (like a piece of hair) stuck in your throat and you cant seem to get it out??..well...IM me on knightoftheni or just email me (twistedfatefalls@yahoo.com) or just inbox me!!

Dont worry about it! This happens to me most of the time, whenever i'm sick my one side of my throat is always swollen and the other one isnt as much if even at all. You could get your tonsils out, but they usually only take them out if u get swollen tonsils alot, but even if you do get them out, its for the better because u wont have a sore throat anymore! Don't worry about it dear! I'm sure the doctor will explain everything to you

i think that yoo shood listen to your doctor..i mean ppl can bee stupid sometimes n lyk to scare yoo i bet yoo juss have a suckness that will go away soon go to ur doctor then prove those kids rong...hope i helped:)
