Hey guys..
I have this homework assignment for social studies where I have to makeup a tribe name & tell like a story about it. Its stuupid. But i cant think of a tribe name!! It can be funny or serious. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! xoxox <33
You might find it easier to name the tribe once you write about it really...
Some of my ideas; (spot the origins ;)
The Babaquerians
The Taraihaads
The Stepelgan Tribe (they worship paper)
The Tribe of Mooooo
Tribe of the Sacred Batarii
Tribe of the Jumping Bananabird (ok, they're getting silly now)
Pick an object, slur the pronunciation, make it sound good...

If you didn't know, there was a hip-hop group named "A Tribe Called Quest" in the 1990s.
Or you could take any tribe name from Survivor. On the other hand, a lot of people will probably do that.
How about calling your tribe "Lawrence", after Lawrence Tribe, the noted constitutional law expert?
Pierced-Nose tribe might be amusing, an English-language version of the Nez Perce tribe.
In reality, most tribes simply called themselves something like "The People" in their own language. So that would work. So would "The Human Beings", which is what the Cheyenne called themselve in the great movie "Little Big Man" (for all I know, they really did call themselves that - but I only know the movie).
If your teacher is a fan of that movie (and there's a decent chance of that - "Little Big Man" was pretty popular) "The Human Beings" might get a laugh out of them, which wouldn't hurt you at grading time.
By the way, I'd REALLY recommend seeing that movie, particularly if you go with that name. It's sad in places and violent, but really funny, too. It's generally considered the first Hollywood movie that didn't use the usual "cowboys & indians" cliches. Way ahead of its time. Some compare it to "Dances With Wolves", others to "Forrest Gump".
