No. Calluses, yes. Artrhitis, no. They still don't really know what causes arthritis, but they're pretty sure it's not related to your life's physical activity.

well i play the guitar and mine still look fine lol but i dont think playing will cause authrituos. my dad has also been playing for like 30 yrs or more and i mean he doesnt have it. it just basically makes your fingers stronger and somewhat bigger. but i think thats a myth about the arthritous.
hope i helped!

It doesn't neceserily(SP) cause anything bad for your fingers.. It makes them stronger and a bit bigger... As for the athritous, i think its a myth. I play myself, and havent found anything wrong with my fingers ]
Uh, I don't think so. Make your fingers STRONGER maybe, but not cause authritus. I don't think you can really do anything except really wear your fingers out, at most strain them or cause carpal tunnel, and that's if you play like 8 hours every day straight. Not likely.

I've never heard that it causes arthritis. The only things that it might cause is awful fingernail damage, or caluses. If you play a lot you might get something like carpal tunnel in your wrist or elbow. ]
