SilentOne answered Sunday August 14 2005, 2:30 am: Photoshop is the most well known. It depends on what platform you're running, and on what computer. If you're going to do anything more than hobby stuff, it's worth talking to a computer tech person about RAM and video cards.
The site somebody already gave you offers only a 30 day trial of photoshop. It's a pretty expensive program, like maybe $200AU for an academic version. If you want something for free, search for "freeware" at tucows. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
