I know this might sound nasty but ever since i can remember i have been having this really bad smell in my private area. i know most boys joke around talking about tuna smelling and stuff but i dont think its a joke. i dont think people can smell it when i hang out with them but im not sure if they smell it when i wear shorts? and i get this nasty white stuff in my under wear and mom knows about it. and my boyfriend wants to have sex with me but i dont want to smell and i dont want him to see that white stuff in my underwear. is there anything i could do to prevent from smelling because i wear purfume anyways. and how could i keep this stuff from my boyfriend. i really havent been smelling that bad lately but i dont want him to see the white stuff. can you please help me? anything will help!
thanx so much!

babigirl500 answered Friday August 12 2005, 4:24 pm: To get rid of the odor sleep with no underwear on at night because it releases the odor..trust me it works i had the same odor problem until my friend told my about it and it totally worked and i was so surprised! and wash it too. The white stuff is also totally normal but not if it gets chunky to keep it from getting on your underwear wear little thin pads and you wont feel it...
MrNature answered Friday August 12 2005, 5:48 am: Hey
Every girl smells down there, Its perfectly OK, havent you heard the song "all in pink all In Pink she made my fingers stink, down in the valley where my face should go", This was the classic song sung by me and my college buddies The Muff diver allstars, our motto was " No Muff to tuff" because in our extensive fieldwork, every hairy taco we supped had its fragrances and flavours, and afterwards we used to spend many an hour in the college bar swapping stories, with the holy grail being the " hey smell my finger" part, sort of gave a whole scratch and sniff element to the story. You should think of yourself as a fine chesse and keep your individuality, also dont deprive your boyfriend of the chance to show off in front of his peers with the old smell my finger trick. Thats just what real men are about. [ MrNature's advice column | Ask MrNature A Question ]

If you feel that your odor is really strong, try switching to loose cotton underwear. Trying a feminine hygiene spray or wipe may also help. You can get odor-absorbing pantyliners to help control the discharge and odor. Another option is to simply sprinkle some baby powder in your underwear. It will help control the discharge and absorb the odor.
A clear to white discharge is normal. However, if it's really thick or looks like cottage cheese or smells extremely strong, that may be a sign of a yeast infection. Are you also having problems with vaginal itching? That's usually a sign also. I would talk to your mom about it and see what she says. If it is a yeast infection, it can be treated relatively quickly, usually within a few days. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
falliingxagain answered Friday August 12 2005, 12:40 am: As everyone has pointed out, the discharge is normal. Although, if it looks chunky.. kind of like cottage cheese, it may be a sign of a yeast infection in which case would explain the smell (which depending on the strength of the smell could be normal). If its chunky like I said before, tell your mom. You can get things at the drug store or even walmart to clear them up quite quickly. Three days tops. But if its not that - you're normal and dont be embarassed by it. Change your undies frequently, especially right before you think you're going to be with him. Light pads (the ones for light days) pantyliners are a life saver! [ falliingxagain's advice column | Ask falliingxagain A Question ]
Teza answered Friday August 12 2005, 12:36 am: That white stuff is discharge and its very normal for every girl. Yes sometimes it does tend to smell but you just need to keep yourself clean. Wear light pads so it doesnt get on your undies and you can just change it every 2-3 hours and you wont smell. Just keep yourself smelling good and no one will notice. Sometimes when you get discharge it means you might be getting your period soon so you might want to watch out for that. He wont see the white stuff and its just a normal thing so dont worry!
