Question Posted Thursday August 11 2005, 10:41 pm

How bad do they hurt? I'm thinking about getting one, but I'm kind of scared of the pain.

Hey hun!
I have my bellybutton done! I love it! It didn't hurt me a lot at all. It just depends on the person, and how much you can take pain. The only part of getting it pierced that really hurt a lot was when they clamped down on the skin above my bellybutton so they could get the needle in easily. They clamped it so tight on me to where when they stuck the needle in, I didn't even feel it. You shouldn't be scared at all. It just hurts for a second. You should be able to handle it :-) Make sure you get it pierced soon! You'll love it! I love shopping for bellybutton rings, cuz there's so many to choose from. I just ordered a bellybutton ring off of the internet on Bodysparkle.com Good luck hun! It'll look really good!

My auntie got her belly button pierced when she was 21, and she said it didn`t hurt at all. Just try hard to focus on something else. It might be better if you bring a friend, and talk about your boyfriend, or something like that.

hope i helped!

i know a lot of people that got their belly button pierced, and they said that it didn't hurt very much. it's like getting your ears pierced sort of. they do it really quick so you can only feel the pain for like a second, and then it just sort of gets sore for like a day or two, and then it goes away. don't worry about it.
hope i helped and please rate me!!!

I pierced my belly button myself and I didnt think it hurt at all. It all depends on how high of a pain tolerance you have. When I did it I thought it was just like a pinch, and it barely hurt, and I went slow with the needle. When they do it professionally they go fast, so Im sure if I felt nothing when I went slow, It wouldnt hurt at all if they went fast.

I got my belly button done! I was really scared of getting it done, too. But, it only hurts for a second and then it doesn't really bother you too much. You have to make sure that you can take care of it. It is sore, but after about a week, it doesn't hurt too bad. HOpe I helped

oo i got my belly button pierced last december, and i think you should get one too

it didnt hurt that bad actually. when i was waiting for the piercer to pierce my bellybutton, i was really nervous and i was having second thoughts because i thought it would hurt like hell, but it really wasnt that bad. i thought i was going to see some blood, and i was so relieved when i didnt see any. i would say the pain probably lasted no more than 5 seconds, and after those 5 seconds, the pain completely disappears. belly button piercings are totally worth the pain, trust me. it's kind of cool, because people are always impressed when they see it.

hope i helped :)

Hey! I got mine pierced two days ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. Everyone says something different about it but here's what I thought: the clamp that they put on pinched a little, it wasn't really a big deal. Then, when she stuck the needle in, it felt kind of like getting your ears pierced and it hurt for a couple seconds. And on the ride home, it tingled a bit. I thought it would be like 50 times worse. Trust me, it's not bad at all!
I hope I helped =)

They don't hurt at all, trust me. It hurt more for me when I pierced my own belly button rather than when I got it professionally pierced. You don't need to be afraid of the pain. In a way, you won't even feel it.
