I'm 16, I have green eyes, and medium brown hair (long) with purple highlights. I really wanna start wearing make-up, something not heavy, and NO EYELINERS. Can you please give me some tips and colors (brands would be cool too) that would go well with my face?
caligirl07 answered Thursday July 28 2005, 10:32 pm: well first or all, i would go to MAC asap. they are great with giving makeup advice and are perfect for teens. purple would really make your green eyes pop, but the trick is the right shade and not doing it too heavy. but seriously, if you really want help, go to MAC and they will do your makeup for you and give you how tos and show you everything you need to get. have fun!! Also if you take the eyeshadow brush and get it a little damp and put some color on the bottom of your eyes (like you were applying eyeliner) it helps really bring out your eyes. Maybelline's a good brand for eyeshadows, so is Revlon. For your lips, a light pink or a light brown lip gloss is safe for pretty much everybody. Wet 'n' Wild and Mary-Kate and Ashley (even though most of their other products aren't that great) make lip glosses that work best and are pretty low cost.
Don't be afraid to experiment! Have fun! :o)

aeromonkey answered Thursday July 28 2005, 12:45 pm: Almay has this thing where they match your eye color with eyeshadow. It's really expensive, though so i just matched the shades with cheaper brands. Then I use light black mascara and a clear lipgloss. Of if you don't want heavy mascara... use clear by cover girl.
Mackenzie answered Thursday July 28 2005, 12:17 pm: In my opinion, it's usually best to select make up according to that day's outfit, but not always. I'd say you'd look fabolous with lavander, suttle yellows, biege, and *TONS* of white. Here's a tip you might find of some use: to get your eyeshadow to last alllllllllll day, put a TINY BIT of body lotion, or Petroleum Jelly on your eyelid first. THEN apply the shadow. Also, there's this technique I ALWAYS do, called "Shadowing". It creates this AWESOME smokey affect!! You simply put on the color eye shadow you wish to wear, then using a bristle brush, dab a bit of gray eye shadow OVER it!! It's gorgeous; I *NEVER* leave the house without it!! As for products, I've ALWAYS been fond of Maybelline's line. :D [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
Teza answered Thursday July 28 2005, 12:08 pm: If you have fear skin then I dont think you need to use any foundation or powder. Add some eyeshadow but dont get any dramatic color, && then use mascara. Thats all you need if you just want to start out with little make-up. If you want you could use lipgloss. I have Maybeline,Revlon && Covergirl make up. They all work good. But for mascara I have Lancome and that is the best ever. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
