Question Posted Tuesday July 26 2005, 10:56 pm

i just saw a commercial on those clear braces taht you can take in and out and you get a new one like every 2 weeks or something and they like work in a year and stuff like that. but can anyone tell me if they really work well. how much do they cost (if u know, if not..its ok) do they work as good as normal braces?? cause i am almost 15 and going into high school and i have to get braces and i dont want to be in high school with braces.

Braces work better.

Invisalign is weaker, and may not be what you need. Talk to your othodontist about it. He/she can tell you what is best for you.

Hey, I'm 17 and I have braces. They are no big deal. Don't worry about them.

i think you mean invisaligns. My opinion is that invisaligns take longer for your teeth to straighten and metal braces work better and faster to make your teeth straight. I know this girl who has invisaligns and her teeth aren't that bad but it works for her. It mostly depends on your teeth and what the doctor thinks. Even though itz not too noticeable you can kind of notice the invisaligns when you talk to someone.

I believe you're talking about Invisalign. They generally cost more than regular braces. The national average cost for Invisalign is $5000. It varies depending on the length of the treatment, the kind of treatment you need, even where you live. If you have dental insurance, it may cover part or even all of the treatment.

They do appear to have good results but you have to take them out to eat, drink, brush and floss which I think is inconvenient.

One thing to think about is the face that not all orthodontists are certified to do Invisalign. I would do a search on ones that do in your area. The following link will take you to a page that will make your search easier.

I hope this helps.

well here's the deal. those clear braces...kinda like invis-aline...stain. if you eat with them in, or put them in after you eat, the could smell relly bad and get nasty food in them. i had braces and they really worked great. you can even get those see through braces type thing, you would just be better off with them.

They don't work well at all - its metal versus plastic.
