as all the other girls have said; it's a thin layer of tissue called your hymen. but; as one of the girls said; you DO NOT 'pop your cherry' when you use a tampon. the hymen can stretch around a tampon without tearing. if you use tampons; look at the diagram that comes in the package. it gives you a diagram of your vagina; and where things are located and such. if you're still lost about this, then go here:

Your "cherry" is actually your hymen, a small piece of skin or membrane in your vagina that blocks things from going into your vagina. It's generally "popped" when something goes through it, usually in the case of sex.
It's common to "pop your cherry" without having sex. Using a tampon, falling a certain way, even exercise can sometimes break the hymen.
It's completely natural and definitely not something to worry about. Some, not all women, bleed or have pain when your hymen is broke.
Short of going to the doctor for an exam, there's not really any way you can know if your hymen is still intact. ]
it can be popped in a lot of different ways...riding a bike, riding a horse...its nothing that you should be scared about because its normal. and your cherry is your hymen.

The "cherry" is a girl's hymen, which is a thin piece of skin inside the vagina. It bleeds because when you break the hymen, you're basically tearing a hole in something (you don't feel it rip. It just kind of hurts (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Depends on the girl)). There's no bubble or anything, so I really couldn't tell you how the slang turned into "pop" a girl's cherry.
Tampons don't necessarily break your hymen. But I think if you do break your hymen using tampons, there's a bit of pain involved. I'm not entirely sure about that, as mine wasn't broken that way, but I'd think so. When you bleed from breaking your hymen, though, it looks different than menstrual blood, I think. There are no clots or anything. It's just like...blood. Breaking your hymen happens more often during sex than anything.
I hope this helps a bit!

there's this little thin sheet of tissue called the Hymen, it covers the entrance into the vagina. so it's suppose to be that when you first have sex, the penis will break through the tissue and release a small amount of blood. but now a days, there's a billion ways of popping your cherry. hell if you sit wrong you could pop it. i had a friend who once popped it on a see saw haha. it's not really popping, more like tearing. and i heard a while back that there's even some new surgery that can like put it back together so that the girl is "technically still a virgin"... grodie right?
i'm not 100% positive on the tampon so don't quote me on this..but i'm pretty sure that you pop it when you use one. ]
It's called a hymen and you've probably already broken it. ]
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure how that expression came about, but I believe that there is a type of bubble thing, not sure how to describe it. Like blood. It usually gets "popped" from having sex, but can also happen if you use a tampon. Thats what I think anyway, don't quote me on that. Good Luck. <3 Lana ]
