Hair Style

Question Posted Monday July 18 2005, 11:36 am

Ok, my hair is very thick and naturally wavy/curly. It takes two to three hours for me to straighten it and I need some other ideas for some hair styles. I tried using one type of gel that said if i scrunch my hair while blow-drying (with this gel in), it would make my hair look curly. But it didn't work. Is there any porduct you recommend? and if you could give me a website or tell me some ideas for my hair that would be great!!! Please respond!! Thanks!

Don't worry, you aren't alone!!! A lot of people have the same problem, meaning that there are a lot of products out there to treat it. You just have to discover the ones that actually work. The three best products I know of are :
1. John Frieda Secret Weapon- $6 at almost all drugstoress (a.a.a.d.)
2. Pantene Smooth Shine and Styling Milk- $5 a.a.a.d.
3. Dark and Lovely Daily Oil Moisturizer-$3 a.a.a.d.

Remember when using these products, wet hair first, and then rub products into wet hair. After doing so, either put hair in one large bun or use curling irons to create random waves.

Hope I helped.

I have hair like that, and I am always trying to straighten or curl it. I don't think its worth the effort. Try to wear it naturally and see if it bothers you. If it doesn't, I would just leave it alone and let it do what it wants to do. Or you could get it cut or permed or something if you really wanted to.

If scrunching is what you want... my friend uses sprunch by aussie. Another friend also puts Rave max hold in her hair once she scrunches it. If you want other options.. check out a bunch of clips to wear your hair up. Or something. If that doesn't work... GOOGLE or Yahoo search for hair styles. IT ALWAYS WORKS! ^_^

Get curling products and scrunch them in!

Mousse and gels work best. Also, try finishing cremes. They help to de-friss hair, and make it soft and shiny.

I recommend Citre Shine curling products. Garnier Fructis also works well. Or if you want to splurge, git the John Freida Frizz-ease line. Those ROCK! But cost a small fortune.

Okay well you can still straighten it but not with a straightener.. my friend has really curly thick hair like you and she iron's her hair. don`t do it eveyrday tho. And if you want to scrunch your hair dry your hair partway so it`s liek still damp then put gel in and scrunch it. and to make your hair straight use sleek cream. Hope i helped ! - courtney

i do that scrunch my hair while blow drying it with gel in it but if you have it on hot and if you are blowing it to fast it doesn't work. Try it by turning the blow dryer down to low or mediean and on cool if it still goes to fast put a sock over the blow dryer thats how my hair stylist does it. When I finish blow drying it i put a little more gel in and scrunch it but don't blow dry it after that!

Hope i helped! Clair
